About Christblogger
Christblogger is owned, operated, and written by Ray Edwards (me).
Convention would have me continue to write about myself in the third person, but it seems silly so I’m going to abandon that particular convention now…
Why I’m Writing This Site
If I were you, I’d be wondering why a person writes a site like this.
Well, to start with… I’m a writer. The ability to write is one of my gifts, and I’m using it on this site to serve God.
This site has one unashamed purpose: to lead people to a relationship with Jesus Christ.
Who Needs A Relationship With Jesus Christ?
We all do.
God made us to know him; he knew we would stray from knowing him; he sent Jesus to be our way back to knowing Him.
If this all sounds a little fantastic and hard to believe, don’t worry. I think it is, too. I was what you might call a “reluctant Christian”. I came to see that the evidence to support the wild, crazy claims of Christ make a lot more sense than any of the alternatives.
Why You Should Listen To Me
“…they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.” — Acts 17:11
Well, you shouldn’t - not without doing your homework.
Just make sure you follow the pattern set in Acts 17:11, and you should be fine.
Just there’s no confusion, though, here’s exactly what I believe:
- God created you, and He loves you very much.
- God wants you to spend eternity with Him in Heaven.
- There is a Heaven, and there is Hell; the former wonderful, the latter horrific.
- Every one of us fails to live as God wants us to live. The Bible calls that sin.
- The penalty for sin is death.
- God loved us so much, He sent His only son Jesus to Earth as a man.
- Jesus was crucified on a cross, paying the penalty for all of our sins.
- He died, was buried, and rose on the third day, proving His claims.
- Jesus sits at God’s right hand in Heaven, preparing a place for those who believe in Him and receive His gift.
- God has a wonderful job for you to do when you become part of His family.
- Jesus sent us the Holy Spirit to help us understand Him better; become more like Him and to enable us to do the work God wants us to do.
- If you acknowledge you are a sinner, commit to God to turn away from your sins, and trust Jesus alone for the payment of your sins and for eternal life, you will become one of God’s children and spend eternity in Heaven.
